What the site collects
Shelf & Signal is a set of static pages. It does not ask you to create an account, and it does not collect names, addresses or payment details. There is no newsletter and no form on the site. If you write to the editorial team by email, the message and your address are kept only as long as needed to answer you and to keep a record of the correction if one was made.
Cookies and analytics
The site itself sets no tracking cookies and runs no advertising. The hosting provider may record standard technical information, such as the pages requested and the type of browser, to keep the service running and to protect it from abuse. That information is not used to build a profile of individual readers.
Third parties
Some articles link to external websites. Once you follow such a link you are on another site, and its own privacy policy applies. The magazine has no control over what those sites collect.
Your rights
If you are in a jurisdiction that gives you rights over your personal data, you can ask what data the editorial team holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to the address below and the request will be handled within the time the applicable law allows.
